ARDC BACK IN ACTION AT ACCORD SPEEDWAY AS JOHNNY HEYDENREICH RETURNS TO COMPETE

~ The Wingless Midgets of the ARDC will participate in a special event this Friday evening July 16th when they travel to Accord Speedway. Joining the traveling band of topless tornados will be 1990 Chili Bowl winner Johnny Heydenreich, who will serve as the Grand Marshal for the event. Heydenreich, a 36 time ARDC winner will have his own GRP Chassis/Aries powerplant sponsored Seals-It racer ready for action.

Heydenreich, who competed earlier in the year with ARDC will have to be on top of his game as he will have a host of racers, in mid season form waiting for him, including another Bloomsburg, PA based member of the Heydenreich family, Eric Heydenreich. Eric, who picked up a win in June at the Fabulous Lincoln Speedway during the USAC swing currently sits fourth in points.

Joining Heydenreich are three drivers who are as hot as triple digit temperatures, including the current ARDC point leader Steve Buckwalter. Buckwalter, who warmed up for July ARDC racing by traveling to Indiana to beat up on the USAC boys won last weekend, at Central Pennsylvania Speedway before picking up a pair of top five finishes at Williams Grove Saturday night.

Drew Heistand, who had a pair of runnerup finishes at Williams Grove will be looking for a three-peat. Heistand has been the man to beat with wins in the last two ARDC visits to Accord. Heistand, who debuted an Esslinger Engine last month has the powerplant figured out and is prepped to pick up his first win of the season. Heistand currently sits second in points.

Kunkletown, PA wheelman Ryan Smith currently sits third in points. Smith who had a pair of wins, sandwiching a runner-up finish was working on another top five in the nightcap at Williams Grove when he ran short of fuel on the final lap.

The ARDC Midgets will be joining Accord’s five regular divisions, plus the ACOT Oldtimers will make a special appearance. Spectator gates open at 5:00pm and racing begins at 7:00pm.
